Miliastra Wonderland: Can Mobile Players Join the Creation Too?
Hoyoverse’s Miliastra Wonderland opens the door to player creativity, letting users build and share their own stages. But as a mobile player, I can’t help wondering — will we ever get the chance to create too?
When Hoyoverse first unveiled Miliastra Wonderland, I was instantly thrilled.
The concept of a sandbox world within Genshin — where players can craft their own games or stages and share them with others — feels like a dream come true.
I couldn’t wait to see how creative the community would get, and of course, I wanted to try building something myself.
The idea of creating my own little world inside Genshin sounded magical.
Curiosity Kicks In
But alongside that excitement came curiosity. How would this even work on smartphones?
As someone who mainly plays on mobile, I immediately pictured my phone lagging, heating up, and struggling just to load the editor. Still, a hopeful part of me thought — maybe Hoyoverse found a clever way to make this compact enough for mobile.
To be honest, I’m not really familiar with sandbox or UGC-style games.
I’ve never played Roblox or anything similar, so when people said Miliastra Wonderland would be “like Roblox,” I didn’t fully get what that meant.
I honestly thought I’d be able to use Genshin assets and build directly on mobile.
That’s why my first thoughts went straight to concerns — lag, heat, and how all the editing tools would even fit on a phone screen.
Reality Check
After the Miliastra Wonderland release, now I understand why it’s currently available only for PC desktop — and honestly, that makes sense.
Building an entire stage from scratch is no small feat. The Serenitea Pot already has strict limits on the number of items and structures you can place, and that’s just for decorating.
This new sandbox allows for massive, detailed environments — something that might simply overwhelm mobile hardware.
Practical Concerns
From a mobile player’s point of view, the technical challenges are clear.
Even in the Serenitea Pot, I sometimes struggle to move a small crate into place because my thumbs block part of the screen.
Precision editing on a tiny display is tricky — imagine doing that in a full game editor filled with complex assets and mechanics.
Then there’s performance.
Editing a large-scale world could easily cause overheating, rapid battery drain, and high data usage.
Would I need to download every asset locally? Or will Hoyoverse store them in the cloud to ease the load?
And if so, what happens when the connection isn’t stable?
Looking at Other Sandbox Games
I also started thinking about how other sandbox or UGC games handle creation.
Roblox, for example, only allows creation through its PC tool (Roblox Studio), while mobile players can only play — not build. It makes sense since building involves scripting, multiple windows, and precise control that touchscreens can’t easily manage.
Minecraft does support full building on mobile, but that’s because its design is intentionally simple — block-based and not as asset-heavy as Genshin.
Fortnite Creative and Core from Epic Games follow a similar path — PC for creation, mobile for playing.
So maybe Hoyoverse is doing the same — letting PC players handle the heavy lifting first, and then, if things go well, maybe they’ll introduce a lighter or simplified version for mobile later.
Still, as a mobile player, I can’t help but feel a little sad that I can’t create my own stage.
In my head, I’ve already imagined designing labyrinth-style maps full of hilichurls and tricky mechanics — something chaotic but fun to explore.
Do you think Hoyoverse will eventually bring Miliastra creation to mobile too, or will it stay as a PC-only feature?
